I think what my friend said makes a lot of sense. On one hand, it's about applying some pressure, and on the other hand, it seems like they're trying to see if there are any "allies" they can gain. Currently, the ones who are publicly leaning towards Trump are Waller and Bowman.
The Federal Reserve has a total of 19 executives, of which 12 are voting members. If Trump can rally more support for his interest rate cut strategy, it would also be helpful for market expectations.
