Kaia collaborates with LINE to create a Mini Dapp ecosystem, promoting the large-scale implementation of Web3 applications.
Overview of Kaia Ecosystem Development: On-chain Growth Paradigm Centered on Mini Dapp
1. Overview of the Kaia Blockchain Ecosystem
1.1 Project Background and Team
Kaia is a new blockchain ecosystem formed by the merger of Kakao's Klaytn and LINE's Finschia. Klaytn was initially launched by Kakao Group's Ground X in June 2019, with early partners including well-known companies like LG Electronics. LINE launched the LINK chain in August 2018, which was later renamed Finschia. In January 2024, the two chains officially proposed a merger plan, and by the end of August 2024, the merger was completed, launching the Kaia mainnet.
Kaia aims to be a high-performance L1 public chain focused on large-scale applications, with core advantages in a mature SDK system and deep integration with social platforms. As a public chain with BFT consensus, Kaia is committed to achieving enterprise-level reliability and performance, providing underlying support for Web3 applications.
1.2 Main Features
Kaia adopts a layered node architecture, including core units, consensus nodes, proxy nodes, etc. The mainnet uses an improved IBFT consensus, achieving a 1-second block time and instant finality, with a theoretical peak of around 4000 TPS. Kaia is EVM compatible, supports Ethereum smart contracts, and integrates with multiple cross-chain bridges.
Kaia is closely integrated with the LINE ecosystem, allowing developers to directly deploy Dapps within the chat application. In May 2025, Tether will issue native USDT on the Kaia chain, further improving the financial infrastructure.
Kaia adopts a sustainable token economic model, with the native token KAIA used for paying transaction fees and incentivizing the network. Kaia focuses on the Asian market, bringing a massive number of social users into the Web3 ecosystem, and has unique advantages in promoting large-scale applications of blockchain.
2. Progress of Ecological Construction
2.1 Kaia Wave Project and Mini Dapp Ecosystem
In August 2024, the Kaia mainnet will be launched, along with the release of the Kaia Wave plan. With the NEXT WEB SDK developed by LINE NEXT, Web3 developers can build Mini Dapps for LINE users. The first batch of Mini Dapp projects will go live in the first quarter of 2025, covering multiple niche tracks.
Kaia has also launched the Mini Dapp Growth Competition in collaboration with the LINE Dapp Portal, focusing on the project's MAU and on-chain token holder rise. At the same time, the Dapp Portal is launched as a Dapp directory and entry point that can be accessed directly through LINE.
2.2 Kaia Stablecoin Plan
In May 2025, Kaia partnered with Tether to issue USDT natively on-chain. Unlike traditional cross-chain bridges, Kaia's USDT is fully deployed in the form of native contracts, directly hosted and issued by Tether. The first batch of native USDT has been integrated into the LINE Mini Dapp ecosystem, enabling the daily use of the stablecoin.
Multiple mainstream exchanges have supported the USDT-KAIA network. In addition, Kaia is fully promoting the issuance plan for the Korean won stablecoin, which is expected to accelerate the adoption of local Web3 applications in South Korea.
2.3 ecological investment progress
In April 2025, the Kaia Foundation received investment led by 1kx and Blockchain Capital, with participants including Galaxy Digital and IDG Capital. This collaboration will help promote LINE NEXT and Mini Dapp services in the market, strengthening Kaia's global influence.
2.4 ecological strategic cooperation
Kaia continues to expand its multi-dimensional strategic cooperation in data visualization, secure custody, and asset circulation:
2.5 Developer Support and Community Building
Kaia enhances the developer experience and stimulates community vitality through various ways:
Three, Excellent Project Cases in the Kaia Ecosystem
3.1 Excellent projects that have completed TGE
3.2 Other top projects worth looking forward to
The Kaia Mini Dapp growth competition has accelerated the incubation and landing of high-quality Web3 projects, showcasing the ecosystem's strong competitiveness in core tracks such as gaming. With more innovative projects emerging and infrastructure being improved, Kaia is expected to further consolidate its leading position in the Web3 field, driving applications from "early adopters" to "mainstream users."
