Cyvers Alerts CEO and co-founder Deddy Lavid stated that incidents are often exacerbated by private key leaks and weak key management systems, with high-profile hacker attacks on multi-signature wallets being a prime example. In the 67 cybersecurity incidents that occurred in 2024, access control vulnerabilities resulted in the theft of $1.9 billion worth of funds, accounting for over 81% of the total losses from cryptocurrency hacker attacks.
