$500 Million Project Launches First Leg of Airdrop Today - Koin Newsletter
OP Stack-based Layer 2 project Mode will launch the first leg of its airdrop starting today.
According to Mode, in the first phase of the airdrop, 550 million tokens will be distributed, which corresponds to 5.5% of the total MODE supply.
Whether or not users can participate in the airdrop will be determined by the Mode points they have. These were distributed based on users' activity in DeFi applications and other Layer 2 networks.
Once Airdrop launches, the Mode token is expected to be listed on several different centralized and decentralized cryptocurrency exchanges.
There will be a separate second leg of Airdrop that will run from 5 May-6 September. In the process, 500 million tokens will be distributed to users.
Mode, part of the Optimism Superchain ecosystem, was developed with OP Stack. OP Stack is the set of software that underlies Optimism.
According to data from Defi Llama, a total of approximately $500 million worth of assets are held in Mode.
