📢 U.S. House Passes 3 Major Crypto-Related Bills
The U.S. House of Representatives has officially approved House Resolution 580 (H. Res. 580), paving the way for full congressional debate on key crypto legislation, including the Clarity Act, the GENIUS Act, and the Anti-CBDC Bill.
🗳️ The resolution narrowly passed with 217 votes in favor and 212 against, following a long and uncertain voting process. It marked the longest recorded vote duration on crypto and stablecoin legislation backed by Republicans.
Initially, the bill was rejected (220 against vs. 209 in favor), but a second vote held on Wednesday (July 16) reversed the outcome after strong GOP lobbying efforts convinced members to switch sides.
🇺🇸 Former President Donald Trump reportedly urged Republican lawmakers to flip their votes in support of the package, which includes defense funding and the three crypto-related bills.
The next step is a rules vote to decide whether the package moves forward for full legislative discussion.
