TRM Labs: The dark web market Abacus Market is suspected to have gone offline due to an exit scam.

According to Techub News, reported by Cointelegraph, TRM Labs released a report indicating that the dark web market supporting Bitcoin, Abacus Market, is suspected to have gone offline due to an exit scam, with its website and infrastructure being inaccessible.

TRM Labs pointed out that the shutdown may be related to law enforcement's attention, as Abacus Market set a monthly trading record after the closure of Archetyp Market (one of the longest-running dark web markets) in mid-June. In late June, users began reporting withdrawal issues, prompting Abacus administrators (nicknamed "Vito") to assure users that the problems were solely due to a surge in new users and distributed denial-of-service attacks. Despite this assurance, users continued to flee in large numbers, with daily deposits significantly dropping in the last few weeks, from an average daily deposit of $230,000 for most of June to only $13,000 daily from June 28 to July 10.
