Israeli authorities arrested a man suspected of conducting intelligence tasks for Iran in exchange for Crypto Assets.
According to Techub News, reported by Decrypt, Israeli authorities have arrested a 27-year-old man from Tel Aviv on espionage charges. The man is suspected of completing intelligence tasks for Iranian agents in exchange for Crypto Assets. According to local media, the suspect could earn Crypto Assets worth $500 for each completed task, accumulating to thousands of dollars. The Israeli Security Agency and the Tel Aviv District Police issued a joint statement indicating that the suspect is believed to have carried out multiple tasks, including photographing sensitive locations and spray painting politically motivated graffiti.
Last week, the pro-Israel hacker group Gonjeshke Darand claimed responsibility for an attack that resulted in approximately 90 million dollars in losses of Crypto Assets at the Iranian exchange Nobitex, alleging that the platform has ties to Iranian intelligence agencies.
