Dominic Kwok, co-founder of the Web3 education platform EasyA, described Ripple's recent acquisition of the primary brokerage firm Hidden Road as one of the most significant deals in crypto history.

Speaking from the Paris Blockchain Week where the news first broke, Kwok stated that the agreement holds transformative potential for Ripple, the XRP Ledger, and the broader digital asset ecosystem.

Kwok stated in his announcement on X, "I have tracked tons of deals in the crypto space, but Ripple's acquisition of Hidden Road is undoubtedly one of the most significant." He added, "This makes Ripple the first crypto company to have and operate as a global, multi-asset prime broker."

According to Kwok, this acquisition, reported to be worth $1.25 billion, allows Ripple to offer full-service trading and settlement solutions that compete with the leading financial institutions on Wall Street. Hidden Road, which processes over $3 trillion annually and serves more than 300 institutional clients, will now become a central pillar of Ripple's efforts to bring enterprise-level services to the crypto world.

"Hidden Road conducts transactions exceeding 10 billion dollars on any given day and carries out over 50 million transactions on traditional finance rails. Now, it will work on the XRP Ledger," he added.

According to Kwok, one of the most important benefits of the acquisition is the deep integration of Hidden Road's operations into Ripple's ecosystem. All transactions carried out through Hidden Road are transferred to the XRP Ledger, while Ripple's native stablecoin RLUSD will be used as collateral in the firm's brokerage services.

According to Kwok, this is expected to significantly increase the institutional adoption of both the XRP Ledger and RLUSD in the real world, and solidify Ripple's position as a leading infrastructure provider in the digital finance space.
