Andy Brenner, an analyst at NatAlliance Securities, observed that the Israeli attack did not appear to have affected Iran's oil infrastructure, a decision that could limit the conflict's impact on the global economy, at least initially. "While this is likely to continue for some time, and we do expect Iran to retaliate, we think the market will take it in stride," he wrote. "Towards the end of the week, another factor driving the market is the growing focus on the possibility of a Fed rate cut against the backdrop of some weak data this week – although the market still sees a low chance of a rate cut next week.
