This article will combine the information of Bitlayer's summer conference and the progress of the project, and deeply disassemble the planning and industrial changes behind the new Bitlayer. (Synopsis: Sui launches Bitcoin-anchored token YBTC: Integrates BitVM Bridge, a cross-chain bridge launched by Bitlayer) (Background supplement: Bitcoin L2" Bitlayer launches cross-chain bridge BitVM Bridge, using "minimal trust technology" to release BTCFi mega-dollar liquidity) This article is widely compiled and provided by Bitlayer and does not represent the position of the moving area, nor is it investment advice, purchase or sale advice. On July 15, Bitlayer Summer Launch 2025 was officially unveiled, with the theme of "The Ultimate Bitcoin DeFi Infrastructure", co-founders Kevin He and Charlie Hu systematically disclosed the latest technology progress and product roadmap of Bitlayer for the first time: BitVM Bridge mainnet beta launched, Bitlayer Network 2.03 Preview, and V3 preview. The BitVM-based team has a visionary vision to redefine Bitlayer and create the ultimate BTCFi infrastructure. This conference not only showed Bitlayer's latest business layout, but also disclosed its five-year strategic plan for the first time: the two-wheel drive of Bitlayer Network and BitVM Bridge, corresponding to the two core tracks of Bitcoin's two-layer network and BTC bridge solution, respectively, to meet differentiated market needs while echoing, jointly drawing a new map of decentralized prosperity anchored by Bitcoin as financial value. This article will combine the information and project progress of this online conference to deeply disassemble the planning and industrial changes behind the new Bitlayer. Bitlayer Bridge mainnet beta officially launched BitVM Bridge is based on the advanced BitVM smart contract architecture built on Bitcoin bridging technology, compared with the early BTC bridging technology, BitVM Bridge is characterized by its minimal trust architecture. By leveraging the innovative BitVM smart contract framework, BitVM Bridge introduces a robust dispute resolution and fraud prevention system to ensure the secure transfer of user assets, featuring decentralized custody and no soft forks. As a secure and trust-minimized representation of Bitcoin in a programmable environment, the YBTC token minted via BitVM Bridge remains strictly 1:1 anchored to Bitcoin and will be widely available in Bitlayer Rollup or other supported programmable environments. At present, BitVM Bridge has reached strategic cooperation with leading public chains and agreements such as Sui, Arbitrum, Base, Cardano and Plume to jointly promote the integration and ecological cooperation between BitVM Bridge and YBTC. In addition, Bitlayer has reached strategic cooperation with three Bitcoin mining pools, Antpool, F2Pool and SpiderPool, and the APIs of the relevant mining pools have officially supported the processing of real-time NSTs from BitVM Bridge and implemented a complete execution process. With the official launch of the BitVM Bridge mainnet beta version, it will enter the mainnet stage in the future, announcing a series of measures such as security committees and online testing activities, which will eventually support users to bridge Bitcoin to other ecosystems in a trust-minimizing way, and explore more gain strategies through diversified DeFi scenarios such as Bitcoin exchange, lending, and staking interest-earning. Bitlayer Network Evolution If BitVM Bridge is a new business that Bitlayer is trying to expand, then Bitcoin's two-layer ecosystem is still the most solid battlefield for its users and community base. At this conference, Bitlayer simultaneously revealed the Bitlayer Network 2.0 white paper, intending to fully upgrade on the basis of the previous V1 PoS, and Bitlayer Network officially entered the Rollup stage. Specifically, the four core features that Bitlayer Network V2 will have include: Bitcoin-level security: All state changes are verified and settled on the Bitcoin chain through BitVM-based fraud proof, anchoring its finality and security to the Bitcoin PoW system Sub-second transaction finality: real-time confirmation to meet the needs of high-frequency trading scenarios Decentralized sequencer: L2 blocks are generated by a group of validators in turn, ensuring that no single entity can manipulate or censor the network without authorization Escape pod function: When the L2 protocol is down or invalid, users can still safely withdraw assets to the Bitcoin L1 mainnet through this mechanism For more information on the Bitlayer Network 2.0 white paper, see: Compared with other scaling solutions, Bitlayer Network V2 can achieve Bitcoin-level security while ensuring complete programmability, and its core architecture has three pillars: recursive proof and verification system, decentralized sequencer network, and emergency escape routes for assets. In the latest roadmap published by the team, Bitlayer Network V2 addresses the security and scalability of Bitcoin's Layer 2 network, while V3 aims to solve the high-performance execution of Layer 2 networks. As the final form of Bitlayer Network, V3 will focus on the following four goals: Customizable, high-performance native transaction engine: sub-millisecond processing latency to support large-scale institutional-level transaction execution Horizontally scalable clustered system architecture: supports two-way unlimited scalability of the execution engine and application ecosystem EVM-compatible high-performance parallel execution engine: Provides a high-performance computing environment for the ecosystem while achieving seamless interaction with the native engine CEX-level user experience: comprehensive sub-second latency, ultra-low cost, and DeFi composability Policy Upgrade: From L2 to Full-End BTCFi Solution Based on the previous Layer 2 business, Bitlayer repositioned itself to simultaneously build the latest generation of trust-minimized BTC cross-chain bridges based on BitVM, as well as build a prosperous two-layer ecosystem of Bitcoin infrastructure projects, and help the development of BTCFi with a wider range of builders. From a pure Bitcoin Layer 2 to a Bitcoin solution provider, Bitlayer's positioning adjustment is not only a response to market demand, but also reflects the fate of the entire industry after a short-term concept hype: it will eventually converge on the core goal of meeting user needs and bringing real revenue. ...
