Odaily Planet News. Edward Snowden, the whistleblower of the Prism program, talked about the issue of decentralization at the Near Redacted conference in Bangkok, Thailand. When it comes to topics such as Cryptocurrency, artificial intelligence, and blockchain technology, Snowden also mentioned VC's impact on blockchain projects using Solana as an example. He described Solana as being "born in prison" because it has received a significant amount of VC funding, which suggests that financial support may hinder its ability to operate independently as a blockchain network. Although he acknowledges the rapid rise of Solana, he also worries about too much ownership being transferred to investors. However, he also points out that Solana may "achieve something" in the future. In addition, throughout the speech, Snowden emphasized the importance of Decentralization in combating the widespread surveillance capabilities brought about by artificial intelligence. He warned that AI-driven surveillance allows governments and corporations to process large amounts of personal data in real time, which could pave the way for large-scale real-time data analysis.
