Solana DePIN track saw record high revenue in April, with significant user and business growth across multiple projects.
Solana DePIN track shows strong growth momentum, with multiple projects performing well.
In April, the decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) track within the Solana ecosystem achieved its best performance of the year. Data shows that the monthly total revenue for this track reached $458,000, a year-on-year increase of 33%, setting a new high for the year. This achievement is primarily attributable to the steady development of several key projects.
Despite record high revenues, the number of active contributors to the DePIN protocol has slightly declined. The major projects collectively maintain around 87,000 active contributors. Notably, the number of contributors for small DePIN protocols has seen a significant increase, with one project experiencing a growth rate of over 100%. In contrast, the number of contributors for large protocols has remained stable or slightly decreased.
Here are the specific performances of several major DePIN projects:
Dabba Network
As a DePIN project exclusive to the Indian market, Dabba Network is committed to deploying Wi-Fi hotspots across India in collaboration with local cable operators. During the period from March to April, its cumulative data consumption doubled, reaching 8000 TB, while device sales increased by 29%.
A certain mobile virtual network operator
The project combines community-deployed Wi-Fi hotspots with partner operators' cellular base stations to provide users with low-cost mobile data and voice services. After offering free mobile plans to all users, the number of new subscription users surged by 125%, reaching 36,000. Monthly revenue increased by 34%, reaching a new high of $250,000, with data offloading accounting for as much as 79%.
A Decentralized Mobile Network
The project is built on the Solana blockchain. In April, its data offloading continued to grow, with an average daily offload increasing by 16%, marking a steady upward trend for 8 consecutive months. Despite a 6% decrease in rewards, the number of active contributors rose by 6%, reaching 732, a new historical high.
Roam
In April, Roam added 535,000 WiFi nodes and 87,000 new users, bringing the total number of protocol nodes close to 4 million and the number of users close to 3 million. Although the monthly user check-in volume decreased by 19%, the cumulative check-in count has surpassed 300 million, indicating that user engagement remains strong.
Shaga
The Shaga protocol utilizes idle GPU computing power to support Web3 games, currently covering 74 GPU models. Within two months, it has achieved 4,500 interactive game live broadcasts, with a total duration of 50,000 hours, allowing viewers to participate in the host's games in real-time.
Hivello
As a DePIN aggregation platform, Hivello is used to monetize idle resources. The online duration in April has doubled compared to March, with more nodes joining to contribute to the network.
A Decentralized GPU Computing Network
The project focuses on providing a distributed computing power market for AI inference workloads. In April, the job completion volume and contributor rewards saw a slight increase, with GPU nodes remaining stable. The newly launched AI collaboration project allows AI agents to operate on its infrastructure, which is expected to drive job growth.
Sallar.io
Sallar provides support for high-performance computing needs by connecting the idle computing power of devices such as smartphones to the network. In April, the US dollar rewards increased to $11,800, a month-on-month rise of 27%, while the number of active wallets remained stable.
Grass
Grass provides a data source for AI training, data scraping, and proxy services through the idle internet bandwidth of user devices. In April, the data collection volume reached a new historical high of 34.5 million GB.
Wingbits
Wingbits is a DePIN project based on Solana, which collects real-time aircraft data through ADS-B hardware deployed by users worldwide. Since November 2024, the number of flights tracked by the network has increased to 150,000, with daily data points collected rising to 9 billion, reflecting increases of 7% and 29% respectively; the number of contributing sites has also risen by 43%, reaching 3,000.
A Certain Decentralized Map Network
The project allows users to collect street-level images through dashcams to earn token rewards. Monthly mapped mileage remained stable in April, and its AI-driven platform for fleet management officially launched that month. Since February, the number of active map contributors has stabilized at around 5,000.
NATIX Network
NATIX Network collects street view and geographic data through smartphones and dedicated devices to support mapping, autonomous driving, and physical AI. In April, user-driven mileage maintained at 11 million kilometers for the third consecutive month.
Sourceful Energy
Sourceful Energy centers around a decentralized virtual power plant, integrating distributed energy resources into the Solana blockchain network. In April, electricity output increased by 30%, and the newly launched smart energy efficiency analysis device received 500 pre-orders, with growth expected to continue.
AmbiosNetwork
AmbiosNetwork has built the largest scale environmental monitoring DePIN in the world. In April, the cumulative user ecological data check-ins exceeded 2 million, with a 12% increase in ecological data check-ins; the total number of platform users has risen to 45,000, a year-on-year increase of 2%.
Overall, the Solana DePIN sector showed strong growth momentum in April, with multiple projects making significant progress in user growth, data collection, and revenue. This trend reflects that decentralized physical infrastructure networks are gaining increasing market recognition and participation.
