Abstract generation in progress

Brian Quintenz, nominated by President Donald Trump to be the Chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), will testify before the U.S. Senate as the approval process enters a critical phase.

The hearing will take place before the Senate votes, coinciding with the Senate's consideration of the CLARITY Act – a bill to transfer oversight of digital currencies from the SEC to the CFTC, which was passed by the House on Thursday.

If approved, Quintenz could become the only remaining member at the CFTC in 2025, when Chair Caroline Pham and Commissioner Kristin Johnson complete their terms. Trump has not yet nominated anyone else.
